![]() We’ve heard your feedback, and as of patch (v1.0.5), the game now supports accessibility options that allow you to tweak the difficulty more to your liking! The game’s difficulty has been the subject of much scrutiny. The first half “phoeno” draws from the word “phoenix” and the last half, “topia”, draws from the word “utopia”. Anyway all that to say that this is a really good game and I hope it will perfrom well on Steam. It’s pronounced like “Fee-no-tō-pē-ə”. I tought they would have a review from Gamexplain, but sadly not. I tried to contact some people in the Switch gaming media for them to review the game when I saw that the marketing was "meh". Without wanting to be mean to Quell (the main dev), the marketing of this game was not really good, but I heard that the publisher withdrew at the last minute, so I can understand. I'm quite sad that this was not a hit on the Switch. If you have liked the flash version, then you will fall in love with Awakening. I have a play time of 33 hours (on my Switch) and I'm clearly not at the end of the game. The new soundtrack is amazing (a lot of new and remastered songs, It's one of my top 5 gaming soundtrack of 2020). A LOT of secret content, optional boss, optional area, etc. Each town is also more flesh out (a lot of new NPC, characters, fishing, cooking, etc). In my opinion Awakening is really bigger than the original flash game. ^_^)b I'm sure your work will speak for itself. I do worry about the marketing for the Phoenotopia since so little people know about it, I hope for the best results possible despite all. I look forward to playing the full game, the new one clearly is a love of labor, developed with passion and care. No, thank you for giving me something to look back to all the time. The ending and some chapters will unfold differently, so I think there's value in it for flash players as well. There's 100,000+ words (so more than a typical novel!). Phoenotopia: Awakening is more fleshed out and has more side content. We did talk with two companies about possible physical print runs and vinyls - but they both walked when they saw the game's sales numbers (they're not good). It'd have to have run 8+ years at this point.ģ. Even before I quit my full-time job to go all in on game development, I was thinking of this game's story and making it in my spare time. We basically rolled with the same setup for Phoenotopia: Awakening.Ģ. The first Phoenotopia was made by a small core team - 1 programmer, 1 musician, 2 artists. First, thank you for the high praise! I'm glad the game made a positive impression on you :Dġ. You can email the dev team at but here works too. Please, keep up the good work and stay safe. I'm tight on money, due to covid, but I'm more than happy to spend 20 USD for it, this is my childhood game after all. Will there be more story and lore in Phoenotopia: Awakening compared to the browser version, or will the content in that regard be about the same? Unless. Are there any plans for merchandise? Or is it too soon to be able to have a mug/plush of Gale?Ĥ. ![]() How long have you thought of this marvelous world and it's wonderful cast?ģ. ![]() How long has this entire project been in development for? Not just Phoenotopia and Phoenotopia: Awakening, but the entire story. Was the first Phoenotophia made by a single person, or a team? Would it be rude of me to ask how many people were involved in making the browser flash version if it was a team?Ģ. I'm 17 now, hoping to better know the team behind the scenes, since I've become aware that games don't just miraculously show up haha.ġ. :) I write this for the developper(s) mostly! I've yet to play Phoenotopia Awakening, as I'm going to play the browser version then the demo. ![]() So, thank you! It's all given me so much heart and soul. Finally, I stumbled upon the dev-blog and found out about Phoenotopia: Awakening! I was elated and I still am, knowing it's going to be here so soon. I always came back to it one way or another. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware that a dev-blog existed. I was a young, impressionable little girl. ![]() The world and the lore got my brain who refuses to focus most of the time to FOCUS on what was in front of me. The game play was amazing and I loved everything about it. I'm not used to tumblr and I couldn't see a place to ask.Īs a young 11 year old, I stumbled upon Phoeonotopia on Armorgames. Also hoping this isn't an inappropriate place for my thoughts. ![]()
